This is the follow-up post to my temporary moment of insanity that actually turned out pretty well. You can read The Homeschool Season Itch here. 🙂
So I got everything put together nicely, rotated the kitchen table and rearranged the workboxes. I organized the shelves with games, manipulatives, books and puzzles, but my largest accomplishment was concerning the art supplies. Today I get to share with you how to finally organize your art supplies!
It might sound like a minor thing, but when you have three boys who spend most of their free time creating – drawing, writing, painting, or coloring – combined with a grandma in Michigan who loves to show her love by sending art supplies for each boy (love you, Mom!!), you can end up with a big mess.
And that’s what we had…a big, big mess.
Thankfully I had a pretty cute helper…
Without further ado, I present our newly organized, under control, has stayed in tact for almost two weeks (a.k.a. longer than ever!), art supply area.
I went to Wal-Mart and bought a bunch of stackable mini-crates from the dollar section and separated all of the supplies into groups…
And I stacked them and put them in a clear plastic bin…
Then in the bottom drawer, I stored paper and coloring books…
I put this printable on top for fun…
Then I added some dry erase poster board on the wall for the big kids…
and the little one…
I did put the paints up high because, well I have kids so I know better…
The end result…
We love it :).
